Frequently Asked Questions.

How do you take Payment?

I accept payment via cash, cheque or bank transfer.

Do you sell Gift Vouchers?

Yes, Gift vouchers can be purchased by treatment or for an amount towards a treatment. Vouchers can be emailed and printed at home or collected in person. Please contact me if you would like to purchase a gift voucher.

Do you do home visits?

No, I don’t do home visits at the moment.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

I ask that I have at least 24 hours notice for cancelling or rescheduling an appointment to allow time to fill the appointment space. I understand that there may be unforeseen circumstances where you may have to cancel or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours. In such cases I am always grateful for as much notice as possible. I will charge in full for appointments which are cancelled under 24 hours notice.

What can I expect during my first treatment?

I will send you an email to confirm your appointment which will have all the relevant details for your appointment. I will also send you a medical form to fill in before your appointment. Please allow an extra 15-20 minutes to your first appointment to allow time for a consultation. This is so that I can create a treatment that is tailored to your needs. I am happy to have a call with you before the session if you have any questions or concerns.

How will I feel after my treatment?

You are likely to feel very relaxed, drowsy and spaced out after your treatment. This is completely normal and I will give you time on the massage table to re-orientate yourself before you leave the treatment room. You may also feel energized. You may also experience symptoms for a day or two, where you feel achy and temporary tiredness before getting better. This is part of the healing process, is very normal and temporary.

Please do get in contact after your treatment should you have any queries or concerns.

What if I don’t want you to work on a certain part of my body?

Please let me know before your treatment and I will modify my treatment accordingly. It is also absolutely fine if you would like to keep a certain part of your body clothed or covered during a treatment. I use adequate towels and blankets and will ensure that your modesty is protected at all times with proper draping.

What Massage lotions do you use?

I use luxury organic massage waxes sourced from Flying Wild a small ethical company based in Terryglass, Co. Tipperary Ireland. Having worked closely with bees in an Apiary in Perth, Western Australia, finding a skin friendly and appropriate massage wax with nice, clean ingredients using ethically sourced beeswax has been important to me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! I can also use a vegan wax if you would prefer. Please let me know of any allergies and I will adapt the massage lotion accordingly.

How are you making your business as environmentally friendly as possible?

Using sustainable, ecological products as much as possible in my business, from ecological laundry detergent for cleaning linen, washable wipes as opposed to disposable wipes for cleaning surfaces, wipeable cushions and bolsters, choosing ecological and recyclable containers for massage products, reducing paper use through an online booking and client note system as opposed to paper format.

What are you doing to reduce the risk of Covid-19 transmission in your Practice?

Please take a look at my Covid-19 - Reducing Transmissions page.

Collaboration with other Complimentary Health Care Professionals

Sometimes it can be helpful to have a second opinion and have an alternative view point on your health condition. In these cases I will refer you to a therapist who may have differing but complimentary skillsets such as an Osteopath, Pilates Instructor or Acupuncturist. With your permission I am happy to work collaboratively with these professionals to bring you to a better state of good health. If you would like to know which therapists I currently work with, please take a look here.
